Funded Early Years Education and Childcare

All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to 15 hours free early years education (570 hours per year). You can use these from the term after your child turns 3 with a pre-school, school, childminder or day nursery.

Some 3 and 4 year olds can get an extra 15 hours childcare (30 hours funding in total). This will depend on your circumstances.

Your child may have a mix of sessions (morning session, afternoon session or all day session to include lunch), up to the 15 hours allocation per week, subject to availability.

We also offer a limited number of places in each session to children aged 2 years and 6 months old to 3 years old - dependent on availability. Since children under the age of three require a higher adult-to-child ratio, we currently limit places per session to 4 children.
